How Much Liquid Do You Lose?

The other day someone asked how much liquid people vaped. I think another pertinent question is - how much liquid do you lose through leakage? I am discounting @dannyv45 here - whose signature reads:"OH MY, I just unscrewed the wrong end of my clearo and it spilled all over me." - though that too happens often enough.

I'm more concerned with how much liquid we lose through atties, even drippers, in normal operation. I think the only tanks I own that do not leak at all are the Nautilus, the Aspire K1s and the Kanger Mini Protanks. My Subtank Mini is like a sieve and I have basically retired it. The Kanger Aerotank is also temperamental and also tends to leak through the air flow holes when the mood grabs it. The Kayfun 4 is not bad, which also applies to the Lemo 2, though they are both not absolutely watertight . Even some drippers tend to leak, although the avoidance of just that is what made me get them.

What's your experience?

Upgraded My Tank But Still Tasting Liquid ??

Hey there guys, new here.

I have a Vappresso Revenger Mini kit and I have upgraded my tank from NRG SE Mini tank to a "Geekvape Z Sub Ohm tank(Much Larger Tank)". Because I wanted to taste more flavor and still blow lots of clouds in the air with my vaping device being fairly cheap.
I put a New Geekvape Z series coil 0.4ohm 50-60W because I burnt my original 0.2 Ohm coil , I wont talk about my previous coil. I'm getting 2 problems here.

1. I'm using 60W, normal setting and every time I vape or inhale I get a taste of E-Liquid in my mouth. However its blowing perfect clouds and still getting an amazing taste but its just that the liquid drops in my mouth. I just want to spit it out every time. How do I fix that problem?

2. The other thing is if I use Higher Wattage and High settings the liquid pours out of the air flow and starts leaking and backspits in my mouth.

(Before I vaped with new coil)I put the new coil in, I soaked it for 10-15mins, while I fill half tank of E-liquid which is 0.8Ng/0.2PG. Then I inhaled 3-4x with no button pressed. Then I vaped to test, still leaking. I set the vape to 70W and high setting then blow downwards into the device 5-6x. All I was trying to do is desaturate it. My results got better didnt notice much of a leak but I still get a little bit of liquid in my mouth. If you can help me out here, I would much appreciate it.

Thank you and kind regards

Different Nautilus Bvc Coils Floating Around..picture Included

Hey all,

So, I've been really happy with my new setup (iStick 50w and 30w, Nautilus and Mini Nautilus). Everything has been working smoothly, but I have a problem with the replacement coils I purchased (and cannot return).

Went to go change out the coil in one of my tanks this evening. Filled the tank up as usual, made sure the air shaft and drip tip were clean, screwed on my new coil, filled the tank, and let it sit and wick up for half an hour. Took some pulls without firing, dropped it to 8w (to "step up" and prime the new coil), and immediately got a nasty burnt hit that I can still taste an hour later. Unscrewed the tank to see what was wrong, and noticed the wicking material was bone dry.

For the longest time, I could not figure out what happened, why it wasn't wicking...until I looked closer. The e-liquid holes on the replacement coil I have are TINY! The coils that came with the tanks have holes that are at least twice, maybe three times the diameter. The holes are so small that my e-liquid will not even enter them to soak the wicking material. I checked the serial number scratch off on Aspire's site and both boxes of replacement coils I have came up as authentic.

I'm displeased. $22 down the drain, now I have to rush and find a dealer who has the "correct" coils. I cannot use these coils whatsoever, and the dealer I purchased from does not accepted returns on atomizers.

On the left is the coil that came with the tank (both of my tanks came with this exact same coil, and two replacements that look exactly like it, but I've used them up and am on the new ones). On the right, the coil I purchased in a replacement pack of 5. You can see they look nearly identical, except for the size of the wicking holes. Also, the piece at the bottom seems a bit more flimsy, as you can see in the picture, it's not exactly straight with the rest of the atomizer.

So, can anyone point me to a dealer that has the coils I need? I'm afraid of ordering from somewhere and getting the ones on the right, which are useless and do not soak up any e-liquid whatsoever.

Help Please: Got New E Cig & Had To Replace The Liquid 3 Times In 6 Hours.

I just bought a new E Cig, the Adept Zlide kit - Adept Zlide Kit

My issue though is that within 6 hours I have replaced the liquid 3 times. It just goes down ridiculously quick, and I'm not really chainsmoking it.

Basically, how do I make the liquid last longer before replacing it, avoiding the obvious answer of "Don't vape it as much" haha. I'm not really familiar how airflow holes and wattage works, so perhaps I'm doing something wrong with that part of the E Cig. I've got my airflow fully open at the moment though, could that be why the liquid is going down so fast? Does more airflow cause more liquid to be used?

I'm using a 1.6ohm coil and my wattage is set to 14, which is the second lowest. Does less wattage use less liquid? Not sure if it's one of these or a combination of the two that is making the liquid go down so fast.

Thanks guys.

Nautilus Aspire Vs. Kanger Aerotank

Curious if any of you have gone to the Kanger Aerotank from the Nautilus Aspire tank? I have two Nautilus tanks and I have to say it is real hit and miss when I change the coils out. Sometimes I will have a clean hit and no burnt taste and other times it is burnt tasting for the life of the coil. A local vape shop told me to switch to the Kanger Aerotank. They did not have it in stock so I ordered it to try. Yes I am doing the whole prep scenario with the drops and hitting it 4 to 5 times before hitting the button. He told me it is common with the Nautilus, but not with the Kanger Aerotank. Any feedback?

Help With Choice Of Sub Ohm Tank Plz

Hey - vaped for a LONG time. Mostly MTL tanks and I have been using the Zenith for a couple of years which I really like, but I'm too hard on it. I vape too much. Anyway, I've started using thicker liquids 70/30 and it's even more difficult for my Zenith. I do thin it out with a little menthol drops. But here's my question. I've been pondering going to a sub ohm tank but I just really don't know which to choose. As it stands, I'm thinking the falcon 2? Do their coils last long? Do the tanks leak even if liquid is thinned out a bit (not much). Anyway, if anyone has any recommendations, plz post reply. Thanks

Nautilus Mini And E-juices? Kanger Expeerinces And Best Kanger Tank? Best Tank?

3 questions that I have at the moment:

I have seen around the site here and around the net, when trying to research on e-liquids, the different variations of e-liquids. There is 50/50, 80/20, max VG, etc. and etc. My question is for users of the Nautilus Mini what liquids can be vaped out of them. My mod is the Eleaf mini. What percentages can be vaped out of them. I am curious because a lot of people when going to the vape store just by juices they think they might like but not getting the right percentage can be frustrating when nothing comes out of the device they just purchased.

Also looking at getting another tank and I am looking at the Kanger series and am wondering which one is the best. (Keep in mind I am not trying to rebuild here.) I am more comfortable just replacing the coils right now.

What is the best tank for non builders? (I know this is going to be a preference thing but I am ready to listen to testimonials on the best tank people have used.)

Thank you and any and all advice is just more knowledge I can put in my bank.

E-pipe Afficiando Thread

A place to discuss and/or showoff your epipes ... any and all epipe discussions welcome from a 10 dollar smok epipe clone to hand-crafted specialty items. Where to find them, especially ones that take 18650, what atties you use with them, do you use them all day or just for relaxing?

I used a smok clone with an Eternity RDA at around 1.5 ohms as a nice little unit for puffing on my diy cigar type vapes:

I've finally retired that one and now have a Kamry k1000+ running a berserker RDA clone:

It's an unregulated device with a 1000mah internal battery. It is working surprisingly well --- I was a bit worried it might flood the air-tube and/or leak given the low angle it naturally rests at, but it remains leak/flood free. It's running with a 0.85 ohm coil at the moment and I've been dripping either a diy cigar-ish liquid, or a moderate menthol.

I have a couple nicer 18350 pipes on the way so stay tuned, and please do show and discuss yours.

Kanger Subtank & Homemade E-liquid

I have been making my own liquid for about a year now without any issues. I just cannot seem to adapt my recipes for my SubTank. I am getting way too much throat / lung hits which leads to immediate coughing.

My all day recipe for the last year is a 60% PG/40% VG mix with 25% flavoring and 18mg of nicotine. I tried this mix in my SubTank at 0.5 ohms and immediately started coughing. I first thought the nicotine was too high so I lowered it down to 12mg then down to 6mg but still coughing. I then thought I was using too much flavoring for 0.5 ohms on the SubTank so I cut my flavoring in half.....STILL coughing. I even tried lowering my PG ratio and raising my VG ratio and..STILL coughing! I have also tried lowering my wattage to no avail.

By this point I am getting pretty annoyed and cannot figure out how to get a nice vape on the SubTank with my homemade e-liquid. The only store bought e-liquid that I have on hand is a bottle of GQ Eclipse @ 6mg. I get a great vape from this liquid on the SubTank (running between 12 and 16 watts). Why am I having so much trouble getting my homemade liquid tweaked for the SubTank? Has anyone else experienced similar problems? Am I running my wattage too low? I am open to any and all suggestions.

By the way.....my most recent batch was 20% PG / 80% VG with 12.5% flavoring and 6 mg of nicotine. I am still coughing my *** off when I try this juice.

Longevity Issues With Kanger Dualcoils.

I've had the same exact set up for about a year and a half now. Itaste VTR + Aerotank with 1.5 ohm coils, and i vape at 9.0 watts. I tend to only vape one specific brand/flavor, I'm one of those weird people that just like one thing and stick with it. Up until July last year, i used a local vape shop's liquid. I liked it and it was fantastic. I'm a little fuzzy on their ratio, but I believe it was 70/30 pg/vg. Their liquid would never pool under the coil and my coils would last for over 5 weeks at a time. Then i moved. The cost of their liquid plus shipping was just too high, i was already paying 22 bucks for a 30 ml plus shipping on top of it was just killing my wallet. I found a couple other sources of liquid, one on the net being Apollo ecigs, and the other being local B&M selling VGOD liquid. Both of those i believe are 70/30 vg/pg.

Now since the switch to either of those 2 liquids, my coils are only lasting 5 days tops, and at nearly 2 dollars a pop, its killing my wallet even more than with the liquid i was having shipped here from that local store in FL. What is going on? Is that ratio of VG/PG killing my coils? Its not so much that the coils are burning out, but i just keep having to take a harder and harder draw as the days go on. When its a fresh coil, i get tons of flavor and good vapor, but towards day 4-5, flavor minimizes and vapor decreases. I've soaked them in distilled water and let them dry out, but even that the flavor/vapor tends to peter out after a day or so.

Thoughts?

Interesting Phenomenon

So I'm noticing that my drippers and tips are getting hot. Like HOT.

It's a recurring problem, and one that I am making much worse on accident, and didn't notice how or why until tonight.

If you over drip, filling the juice well, super saturating your wicks, and generally get too much liquid in an RDA so that it really wants to leak, well, all that juice gets hot and transfers heat to the rest of the atty pretty darn quick!

Also - if it should happen to drip, it can burn you. I currently have a second degree (blistering up) juice burn on my thumb.

Time to get a little more patient with more frequent dripping.
