Weird Looks...

you should've seen the looks I got "smoking" next to a 20,000 gallon tank of gasoline....then the construction crew lost it when the fire marshal came over and started "smoking" on a beautiful Tree of Life/Elm combo next to me....

It's Called "social Engineering"

I'm not proud of this, but I broke down and had a cig this morning (been months since I quit, but still "slip" once in a while)
The next door neighbor came by (she knows I vape) and there I am smoking. She said " just don't vape... it's very dangerous!" It almost killed me... and she didn't seen concerned at all that I was smoking (I think her husband used to smoke and had heart issues... he passed away) I made one of my "bad jokes"... said "it will drive you to smoking again" She didn't even get it. It's called "social engineering" and is very powerful (at least to the "sheeple") We have all discussed this. Your average person doesn't read or listen to the whole story, just knows "vaping is dangerous!" I give up... just can't get through to some people

Newbie Needs Help!

Hiya!

I'm all new to vaping and I'm about to buy my very first ecig. I've been smoking normal cigarettes for the past 9 years, and I'm honestly a bit confused about the whole thing. I know I want MTL, so it feels like "the real deal", but from there on, I'm lost.

I've been looking at the Joytech AIO 1500 MaH or the one called "Probox", but I'm not sure if that's a good choice? I don't want anything too expensive to being with, I can always buy something more expensive later on.

Second question, is if I've been smoking 10-20 cigarettes, would I go for 12 or 18mg of nicotine? I know that I won't just want to take one drag and be done, so would it be better to go lower?

I hope someone will take their time to help someone all new to all this

Kindest regards

Great Grimmgreen Moment

I was watching a GrimmGreen video and he started talking about the "vaping community" and how we tend to help each other (especially to quit smoking) I recently "re-quit" smoking after slipping for a couple months (but never stopped vaping) and this just hit home for me...please take a few minutes and watch this (skip to 20:00... 20 minutes in) Enjoy.

My Heart Doc Says Keep Vaping

Today was follow up #2 to my cardiologist. A bit over a year ago my heart got all outta whack from years of bad habits.
Dude blamed it on smoking. So my next logical step was to start vaping.

A follow visit later I showed him my Aspire Rover X30 (w/D22 tank) and he high fived me. Next visit everything was good to go. So he put me on a bi-yearly schedule. This was visit #2.

He came in the room all happy at what an ekg, and other tests showed good signs. He asked if I still smoke and I said yes but while pulling out my vape pod and showed him. "I smoke a lot less now" I said.

He said "keep on vaping and some day you'll stop smoking". Agreed. He said come back in a year and if I'm not smoking anymore he'll pay for the visit. (about $500 total with tests).

Ironically on the way into the facility I had to put out a fire from a cigarette in a landscaped area where the mulch was smoldering.

Anybody else have a doctor who approves of vaping?

I Really Want To Quit Smoking, Been Vaping Since 2014

i quit smoking for about 3 months back in the carto tank days.

then they stopped making cartomizers. then all my juice vendors went out.

I've been struggling to find a replacement since. I've easily spent too much money on vaping. I"m getting tired of trying.

are these new pods similar to carto tanks?
I'm so lost.

I have lost interest in the clouds. I just want to stop my 30 year long smoking addiction. I miss my carto tanks. they worked for me. I'm frustrated. I'm tired. I'm lost.

My Parents Don't Like Me Vaping

So I'm a 19 year old guy, started smoking when I was 14 and finally quit cigarettes 3 months ago. My parents like that I quit smoking but they think vaping some sort of gateway drug that will make me want to, and I quote, "smoke {OTHER STUFF}". What I don't understand is that both of my parents both smoke a pack a day. I even tried to convince them to switch to vaping but they said they don't want to smoke that "{OTHER STUFF} device". Even when I vape in my room, they come in and get pissed off because they're tired of smelling my "fruity {MODERATED}". How can I convince them to get a better understanding of vaping and potentially start them on it too?

Usa Today: Scientists Want Probe Of Ucsf Tobacco Research (glantz)

Scientists want probe of UCSF tobacco research
One of the country's best-known tobacco researchers is under fire this week after one of his federally funded vaping studies was retracted and other academics are calling for federal review of some of his other influential anti-vaping research.

additional Glantz studies deserving of the most scrutiny include two major publications in 2018: A meta analysis of other vaping studies published in the British journal Lancet Respiratory Medicine and one in the journal Pediatrics about teen vaping and smoking.

The Lancet analysis of several studies was based on a "misleading negative correlation between e-cigarettes and smoking cessation"and used studies that had nothing to do with quitting smoking, Abrams said. This violated the basic tenets of medical research review, he added.

"It has had a massive misleading influence in the field to this day because it is cited as the main reference" to show vaping makes it harder to quit smoking, Abrams said.

The other study concluded the "use of e-cigarettes does not discourage, and may encourage, conventional cigarette use among US adolescents." Rodu, who analyzed the claim, found only 11 of 9,000 teens studied vaped before they started smoking and 80% of the kids who smoked hadn't used tobacco product previously.

Using that data, Abrams said the "effect of vaping is not just diminished, it disappears."

The Unique Differences Between Smoking Analog's And Vaping

I was just thinking about some of the unique things about vaping that is different from analog's

In the past I had used my analog as sort of a timer. Worked great for cooking a frozen pizza, It took me roughly 10 minutes to have a smoke. I could string several together for things that required more time.

The last cig would kick off my sleep. "when I finish this one it's lights out" . When I vape with a tank it is never finished.

Analogs were a convenient excuse to get away from non preferred people or activities.

Analogs at an event, would decide for you, who your social group would be. It would be the group huddled by the entrance smoking.

Would force you to get out of bed and start the day. Especially when you were hung over and out of them.

Could refresh you day of the week memory. "Hmm got three packs left, bought the carton on Monday, So it must be Thursday.

Forced me to clean my room or car. Looking for that Emergency Smoke.

Meet girls (smoking girls).

Anybody else notice the weird differences?

What Would You Recommend For Someone Quitting.

I was talking in another thread, and the question came up that may be a good topic... for the experienced vapers, if you had to recommend one vaping setup... both atomizer and battery.... what would you recommend to someone who had.. say.. a pack and a half per day habit? I am curious as to what you would recommend to get someone to stop smoking, and it be an "end-game" product.....one they wouldn't need upgrading later. Both atomizer and device.

And yes, I know some people may turn it into a hobby like me and want to buy a variety, but I am strictly speaking for the stopping smoking part.

I'll go first...

I'd recommend an Istick 30 with a subtank mini. I think that atomizer and battery combo offers a convenient size, good juice capacity, reliable, a wide variety of vaping options, and just a good "grab and go" setup.

Vaping Outside Of Walmart

So I'm outside of Walmart vaping (away from the entrance... basically where the employees smoke... cig butts everywhere) This woman walks by, stops and says "aren't you afraid that will hurt you" and I go into the "it's safe, it actually has nothing to do with this" and then she says "because I was really interested in vaping" (I thought she was going to tell me to go in the parking lot or something... she actually wanted to quit smoking) So I explained the whole deal about THC carts and "contamination", the bed rep from news media, ect. and she as very interested. I told her to search the internet and find the truth (how they are finally telling the truth) She was so relived and thankful. I may have just helped someone get off cigs, someone that was very interested in vaping and got scared. Happy ending (I needed that) I wonder how many other people want to quit smoking and just got scared because of the media BS. Kinda made my day
