Steel (opaque) Tank Tips For Gauging E-liquid Levels?

I am considering a stainless tank for their looks and durability. I have a phobia because I have never been able to not break anything made from glass, including pyrex. I tend to be kind of rough with my gear, and always prefer the most durable option. I'll probably drop it onto the tile floor, or concrete. It would render my tankomizer unusable, as well as wasting the e-liquid. Then, I'd be worried someone's pet would come and lick up all that poisonous nicotine and get sick, so I'd have to carry paper-towels around with me or something.

Is there a neat trick to gauging the e-liquid levels in the steel tanks, or is it always just a guessing game? Do you use time as a fuel gauge? Like, knowing how much juice you go through in an hour, then do math?

Is there some sort of magical electronic device that you hold up against the tank to read its levels? Or how about some special tiny floating magnets that surf the e-juice, then you see where a screwdriver sticks to the outside? I'm being facetious, of course. I'm just wondering if someone knows some cool trick, or if it's just unscrew it and peer into it: old school.

I did order an Aspire tank that is a neat looking stainless cage around the pyrex, which might be the best of both worlds, but I'll probably still break it.

Then there are those like the Joyetech Delta II with little slits for a sight-glass, but I think I want a KayFun with no window.

Tank Suggestions That Will Last Long?

Hey guys looking for a tank that will last me long. As we all know CE4's aren't the best mine died pretty quickly. Looking for a tank that will last me long, and wouldn't need replacement coils very often. Also hoping these tanks are glass so they don't break with certain juice. I was thinking the evod glass 2 or the aspire k1. Any ideas? And will these tanks fit on my battery?

Clumsy Me.. Broke All My Aspire Tanks.. Vari.. Whats Next?

So I'm on the fence with my latest stint using the aspire vivi nova and mini tanks.. I break and loose them so fast I refuse to spend over $20 on a new tank. And Iv also had mixed results with the coils. I use a provari which has out survived all the tanks.. well, that's another story..

I'm wondering if the Atlantis performs better than the vivi nova tanks Iv been using.. It , with a SS tank might survive my abuse. But I seem to break the base connection more than the glass when I drop them.

Can someone enlighten me how the different Aspire tanks perform? how many different styles of coils are available now? Should consider a different system with more consistent coil performance? I'm tired of the one day aspire coils..

Thanks!

Melo Atomizer

So I"m thinking about getting a MELO tank so that i can have something for driving and being out and about. I have 2 big questions. 1) It says that the wicking material in the pre- built coils is something called 'glass fiber cotton"......what on earth is that? Surely to goodness they aren't using actual fiberglass but does this stuff actually contain glass? 2). It looks like a very well made piece. Does anyone know if it is 100% stainless steel (especially the chimney assembly and the coil) or is it that plated brass that will flake?

Best Tank For Evic Joyetech 1st Gen?

Hello, I've been using the Aerotank giant with an eVic Joyetech 1st gen battery since 5 months ago and the glass of my tank broke a few weeks ago so, I'm looking for a new tank upgrade, I've seen good reviews about the KangerTech Sub Ohm but I havn't had the time to see reviews about other thanks and this one looks pretty cool, what other tanks are out there to compete with this one? Should I get this one? I'm ordering in the next 3 hours or so, so, any advice is welcomed!

Thanks in advance vapers!

Will A Kanger Evod Tank Last Forever?

I've been using disposable clearomizers since I started vaping, with an 808 kit, and that's been working fine for me, but I came across a super cheap deal recently for a Kanger Evod starter kit, so I bought one. I paid about $14, so it was a no brainer.

The tanks have these disposable coils, but the tanks seem like that they can be re-used forever, as long as they don't crack or fall on the ground and break, is that correct?

I saw that they sell a glass tank for it also, so I think that I'm going to pick one of those up, and I'll be able to vape on any juice that I please, without the fear of the tank cracking, and I'm assuming that that tank will last for a very long time.

So far I'm pretty happy with the Kanger Evod, and I like the vape from it.

Ugh, Why Did I Get Talked Into Something That Wont "work" With My Device?

I've got a VTR that i was using with an aero tank, but was burning through coils like every 4 days. Local vape shop recommended the nautilus mini since that's what the owner uses with the same juice I use. Doesnt quite fit with the VTR ring, but they showed me how to screw the base in and just pop it in that way. Cool, no problem right? Yeah right.

I go to refill and i cant get this ....ing thing off at all. The 510 connection is not stuck in to the device, but the bottom ring to unscrew the glass part is just not budging at all. So now I basically have a inert device and tank that cannot even be used and I'm out 52 bucks in total for this damn tank and coils.

Burning, Almost Coppery Taste After Vaping - Not Coil

Hi, sorry if there is a similar thread I am relatively new here,
I have always had issues with burning e liquid over various devices and brands,
I currently have a istick 30w with a kanger subtank, only bought the tank yesterday and battery last week, however it was fine yesterday, was vaping at an average of 17w, however i did go up to 30w depending on stress levels (And i'd gone from 20mg to 6 mg given i was now subbing) - However since today i have noticed a burning, almost coppery, metally (Apologies for my brilliant description) accross the range of vaping, used to get it with my old i stick but only when i was vaping at higher levels, however now it is happening all accross the range, obviously a lot worse and completely metally at higher wattage, any advice? - Swapped out the coil to the 1.2 and it was still doing it, with a fresh refill of liquid, was adding the coil properly and everything. just thought i'd solved this issue. many thanks for any advice, this is a £80+ setup so i want to get anything returned if there is anything wrong with tank etc/

EDIT: When I was in the shop they mentioned it could be the pg/vg of the liquid, however it was doing it at 70/30 and now 50/50, any advice?

Pg With Sub Tank?

I am using my isub tank and waiting till I get my liquid delivered but have no juice I was wondering if I could pick up some cheap puff e juice till it arrives. I just thought I seen awhile back that pg is harsher with sub ohming. pretty sure puff e liquid is a 70pg and 30vg just figured I'd ask before I go spend money.

Different Nautilus Bvc Coils Floating Around..picture Included

Hey all,

So, I've been really happy with my new setup (iStick 50w and 30w, Nautilus and Mini Nautilus). Everything has been working smoothly, but I have a problem with the replacement coils I purchased (and cannot return).

Went to go change out the coil in one of my tanks this evening. Filled the tank up as usual, made sure the air shaft and drip tip were clean, screwed on my new coil, filled the tank, and let it sit and wick up for half an hour. Took some pulls without firing, dropped it to 8w (to "step up" and prime the new coil), and immediately got a nasty burnt hit that I can still taste an hour later. Unscrewed the tank to see what was wrong, and noticed the wicking material was bone dry.

For the longest time, I could not figure out what happened, why it wasn't wicking...until I looked closer. The e-liquid holes on the replacement coil I have are TINY! The coils that came with the tanks have holes that are at least twice, maybe three times the diameter. The holes are so small that my e-liquid will not even enter them to soak the wicking material. I checked the serial number scratch off on Aspire's site and both boxes of replacement coils I have came up as authentic.

I'm displeased. $22 down the drain, now I have to rush and find a dealer who has the "correct" coils. I cannot use these coils whatsoever, and the dealer I purchased from does not accepted returns on atomizers.

On the left is the coil that came with the tank (both of my tanks came with this exact same coil, and two replacements that look exactly like it, but I've used them up and am on the new ones). On the right, the coil I purchased in a replacement pack of 5. You can see they look nearly identical, except for the size of the wicking holes. Also, the piece at the bottom seems a bit more flimsy, as you can see in the picture, it's not exactly straight with the rest of the atomizer.

So, can anyone point me to a dealer that has the coils I need? I'm afraid of ordering from somewhere and getting the ones on the right, which are useless and do not soak up any e-liquid whatsoever.
