What Is It With Mesh?

I'm so tired of the recent "mesh only" craze. I just don't understand it at all.

I have used roundwire sub tanks for close to 4 years, and can generally get a pretty accurate flavour representation from my juices. Obviously some are better than others, but the og Uwell Crown coils and .4 Cleito coils are pretty stellar.

Recently decided to mix it up and try something new, so i went on the hunt for a new sub tank, only for the market to be completely littered with mesh-only tanks. The only tanks i could find that still use roundwire are from years ago.

I figured i had been missing something, so i picked up a collection of mesh sub tanks, only to be dissapointed by every one of them.

The list was:
Ehpro Raptor with both the raptor coils and the Horizontech Falcon coils.
Innokin isub B.
Aspire Odan Evo.
Aspire Cleito Pro.
Geekvape Zeus.

I got absolutely zero of the liquid nuance that i get from 3+ year old roundwire coils. I just get a blast of full-on "all the flavours at once", and for juices with sweetener, that is the primary profile. Interestingly, i found that with fruit flavours, it was a little more palatable, but since i primarily vape bakerys this wasnt all that much use.

I figured i would give the mesh rta's and rda's a shot, as everyone is raving about them, so i picked up:
Wotofo Profile RDA.
Wotofo Profile Unity RTA.
VandyVape Mesh RTA.

Tried all of them, same dissapointing experience. They were basically mesh sub tanks in RTA form. Literally exactly the same "flavour".

So, after wasting a chunk of money on all of these, im back to using the Cleito Pro with the 0.4ohm Cleito coils and the Uwell Crown Mini with the og Uwell Crown coils with the occasional use of the Wake Mod co RTA when i can be bothered to rebuild.

Is it just me? I dont understand the hype in any way. Maybe it's just my particular flavour profile doesn't work great with mesh, or maybe its just me, i dunno. It's just a shame to see that any recent sub tanks that come out are all mesh, apart from the very occasional sprinkling of roundwire thrown in here and there.

Anyone else have a similar experience? And have any recommendations on recent sub tanks to try that aren't just mesh?

Mesh Vs Coil

Hi I've been in the vaping industry for years now and have had many tanks over the years both mesh and normal coil, for me mesh was amazing at flavour and for more cooler vape lovers, however I found that normal coils provided more cloud and less juice consumption with some tanks and were able to achieve the same amount of flavour as mesh with the right build. But I still curious as too how many people prefer mesh over normal coils and vice versa and why ?

Mesh Upgrade From Big Baby/x Baby User

So I've been vaping for 2-3 years now. Mainly on a Big Baby Beast and Baby Beast. When the X Baby came out I got one but stayed with the big baby. X Baby motivated me that vaping wasn't gonna get much better than what we already had. Now after 6-9 months out of the loop, I see mesh is in. My local supply doesn't even carry X Baby coils anymore. So since I've been using the same 2 tanks for over 2 years, well it's time. I just want something better than what 2017 had to offer. I have rebuilt coils in the RTA for the Big baby. I can build basic coils. I want easy. I'm too busy to do anything past a simple mesh RTA or a new mesh sub ohm replaceable cool setup.

I like DL Vapes in the 30-50 watt range. With the Smoke stuff I've never went over 50 watts and I'm happy with that or I would need a new mod.

It would be nice to get a recommendations that the typical local supply would carry coils for

Rta Vrs Rda

Wanting to take a poll or get some feedback on what some of you all think about RTA's. I have had the Profile Unity mesh rta for several weeks and other than getting the build right its freaking fantastic. I also have the Cleito 120, Crown IV, Falcon King which the M1 Coil to me is the best coil for Falcon, but the RTA is by far has the best flavor at of all of my tanks. I am thinking about buying another one and the one that is catching my eye is the vandy vape Kylin 24 mm. Anyone have it or think there is something out there with better flavor. I have stayed away from RDA's due to I do not care for hot vape. A friend has told me if I do try an RDA to go with the Profile Unity Mr Right RDA or Apocalypse RDA 25mm by Immortal Mod.. Biggest issue is I travel a lot and not sure I really need to be messing with RDA. ..

Thanks for all the feedback on last thread

Mesh Coils Vs Non-mesh

I'm really new to vaping. Well I've had a snow wolf for awhile, I quit and picked it back up after I turned 21 because the smoking age in Virginia raised. But anyway I never got the difference between these two. Are there really advantages to mesh??

Crown 4 Mesh Coil Issues

Hey everyone,

So I've had the crown 4 tank for about 6 or so months and switched to mesh coils a couple months ago, off and on. The reason being is that it seems with the 4-packs I've bought, it's almost guaranteed that 2 will be either VERY picky about how tight i screw the tank and coil on the base. It has to be JUST tight enough where the box gets an ohm reading, but any tighter it looks like it shorts out (the ohm reading blinks 0.00). I've never messed around with the coil before, i usually just end up going back to the traditional coils and dealing with the lacking taste. Any suggestions? I'm using the sub box mini v2 if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

Modified Drip On Sub Ohm Baby Beast With Mesh Coils

So admittedly I dont know if this counts as m
odding when people are building actual boxes to fit atomized and house batteries from scratch but what's everyone think about this addition its a new use for something I dont use anymore the top to the tank of my evod 2 built by aspire a just kinda screwed it into the wide gauge tip of my baby beast sub ohm tank I'm using the .15 mesh coils and tightening the draw and I find that I can get quite lot of flavorful vapor at 40 watts and 2.70v set to hard hit on my aspire skystar

Curious what anyone might think of this and if anyone maybe has some other easy DIY flavour chase inovations

I Did Something Different...mesh Inside Of A Recurve Rda!

Can one man have it all? We'll see.

There's 3 things I really wish I could combine in my vape setup:
-Mesh coils
-A small flavorful chamber
-And the ability to squonk my e-liquid in.

I really love how mesh coils never seem to burn, and they give you next level flavor from their surface area, the problem I've experienced is all the RDA's that are designed to hold mesh are frankly garbage (the ones I've tried), the best I've tried is the Profile RDA. The profile does the job but it's airflow is either WAY too wide open giving you a cold and almost dry hit (still great flavor though), or if you twist it to shut half the airflow off it's not even being directed at the coil anymore and you get a spitty, starting-to-burn-but-still-somehow-cold hit. My favorite RDA I tried last year and have never looked back on is the Recurve, even using normal stainless steel 31 coils, it blows the Profiles flavor out of the water due to it's smaller volume chamber and perfect airflow holes, and provides a rich, warm, satisfyingly dense hit. THE PROBLEM with the recurve is that it's not designed to accept mesh as you traditionally need a flat clamp to lock your mesh ribbon into place.

Well I got a bug up my butt and had some time on my day off so I decided to make it work. It was alot easier than I thought it was going to be, I simply twisted the end of a strip of mesh so that it could be inserted into the Recurves circular wire mount hole, I pre-heated the mesh to temper it so it would lose it's springiness and wrapped it around a diameter smaller than 3mm so that when it relaxed it would be about 3mm, it worked surprisingly well (I also cut the mesh ribbon so that it was half it's original width, otherwise you wouldn't be able to make one wrap without exceeding the width of the chamber. The only tricky part was getting the terminal end of the coil to land perfectly in the other mount screw while keeping the diameter consistent, I just kept trimming the end and twisting as needed until it was a perfect fit, and looked good. Once everything was mounted it was alot more cooperative, and I simply teased it with tweezers until no parts of the helix were touching (so-as to avoid hotspots, in the picture you can see a hotspot that I fixed near the mounting screw where it was touching the actual body of the RDA, a little nudge fixed that). I then wicked it so it was fairly snug, and at this point everything pretty much stays exactly where you move it, super easy to position where you want it.

The coil ended up being 0.56ohms, and I'm running it temperature controlled at 450F, and I've been vaping pretty hard on it for the past two hours and it's amazing. My honeydew e-liquid got doubly sweeter, the notes a little bit more obvious, and because the recurve has a small chamber it's dense and warm too with no spitting whatsoever. I'm also noticing the wick doesn't dry out as quick. If they could come out with a Recurve with mesh clamps I think it would be a GAME CHANGER.

Let me be the guinea pig for a few days if you're thinking about trying it, it feels too good to be true (besides saying a few curse words installing it) and I'm sure there's a problem I'm not finding yet haha. I'll report back if anyone is interested!

Tank Atty Vs Rda

I have a TM 24 pro. I threw In a pair of Juggernauts just for astetic reasones.
I also have the geekvape mesh pro atty. With some, (most) juices I get a better flavor from from the mesh pro. With the TM24 pro and the Juggernauts I obviously get significant more vape. But my tank atty gives me more flavor. I fear pushing the 24 pro with the Juggernauts past 120-130w just because of the batteries i current have. Is it just the Juggernauts giving me the lower flavor or what? I have other coils, the alian, interlock alian, and the staggered fused Clapton. Is it the coil, our just the cloud chucking RDA o have.

Clumsy Me.. Broke All My Aspire Tanks.. Vari.. Whats Next?

So I'm on the fence with my latest stint using the aspire vivi nova and mini tanks.. I break and loose them so fast I refuse to spend over $20 on a new tank. And Iv also had mixed results with the coils. I use a provari which has out survived all the tanks.. well, that's another story..

I'm wondering if the Atlantis performs better than the vivi nova tanks Iv been using.. It , with a SS tank might survive my abuse. But I seem to break the base connection more than the glass when I drop them.

Can someone enlighten me how the different Aspire tanks perform? how many different styles of coils are available now? Should consider a different system with more consistent coil performance? I'm tired of the one day aspire coils..

Thanks!

What Is Preheat Mode - And How Does It Affect Coil Life?

Howdy friends of the clouds,

can anyone help with this?

I use a aspire skystar mod with freemax double mesh coils now again after a long time.

The skystar mod has a preheat option - just "soft", "normal" and "hard".

How do these differerent settings affect coils life? What is the benefit?

Much appreciated!

P.S. I am back to vaping from today, my parcel just arrived. Let's do something for our health. Will miss those cigs but...gootta be more responsible, I am almost 25 now. But why....anyway. I need a diary probably.
